What was the best Christmas (or other holiday) gift you ever received?

The best Christmas gift I can honestly say I ever received are the handmade things my children give me each year. To me, nothing can top that. My husband does GREAT picking out gifts, and I love every single thing he gives me, but for some reason I get the most joy out of the homemade things. I think it is because I know they dedicated their time and effort into make something they just KNEW mommy was going to love!

I wish I could go back to before kids and tell you my favorite gift from then, but my answer to that would have to be my husband and my kids! Who's birthdays are all right there before Christmas, so everything kind of added up nicely that way!

  2. That's just lovely! :-D I sometimes get handmade gifts from friends and family and it really is that little bit more special. This year I made most of the gifts I gave out - and I had such fun doing so. :-) Hope you've had a wonderful Christmas! I'm a new follower. Thanks for following my blog!

    1. I LOVE making them as well! I feel like these are the best kind because the person knows you spend your time, effort and energy to make something you thought they would completely love.

  3. Awww....how sweet! That's such a nice, loving answer! Your kids have a GREAT mom!!

Handmade gifts are indeed very, very special. The investment of time, along with the love for the person receiving the gift -- these things are not sold in any store. They are the ingredients for special, wonderful memories to be treasured forever! You are truly blessed.

I don't have to wonder whether you had a fabulous Christmas, because, with such gifts, and people whom you love and you love, too, you are always guaranteed a great holiday!

Thanks for commenting on my FF post, as well as for following me with GFC and Twitter!! : )

  7. Aw! I love your answer. I always wished I had someone to help my boys with homemade gifts. But this next year, I think we're going to make everyone homemade ornaments for Christmas. Now it will be about trying to get my son to focus long enough to do more than just paint it one color.

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
